Introducing Brenda Schwindt

When making a decision for one of the most important issues in life, that of either purchasing or selling real estate Brenda has the confidence, knowledge, and ability to assist in the decision-making process based on information and insight. She is a real estate professional clients trust to listen carefully to their needs, work tirelessly to keep their needs at the forefront, and negotiate with their best interests in mind.

Brenda's Life Before Real Estate

California, born and raised, but willingly choosing Portland as home many years ago, Brenda was an educator in the Beaverton School District for 20 years prior to making a change in careers and professions. As an educator she worked with students from first to seventh grade, taught adults wanting to become teachers, worked with other teachers in the implementation of innovative methods, and help develop curriculum in different areas for the district. She gained her Masters Degree in Education from Lewis and Clark College here in Portland.
She lives with her husband Bruce, an excellent travel guide and planner and a newly adopted cat, Kimba a superb entertainer and acrobat. When relaxing or pursuing additional interests, Brenda and Bruce enjoy traveling to many near and faraway destinations - Africa remains one of their favorites, hiking on the coast or in the gorge, biking along the waterfront and river, getting together with friends over tasty meals at one of the many wonderful Portland restaurants, exploring Oregon and Washington getaways, and spending time with 2 sons and their families (both of which currently live in Portland).

Why the Profession of Real Estate?

Brenda has been an active Real Estate Broker since 1997. She believes that it has been an adjunct and a conitnuation of her former profession in education. Keeping clients informed with updated market analysis, property activity and financial implications, guiding them through the process of purchasing or selling a home, assisting in every phase from the beginning of listing their dreams to sitting at the closing table, Brenda endeavors to become the real estate professional for life. Her business is based on long-standing and newly developed referrals. She is honored that so many of her past clients continue to trust her to treat their family and friends with great care and professionalism.

Professional Affiliations

Brenda is a member of the National Association of Realtors, Oregon Association of Realtors and the Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors. As a former educator, continuing education is extremely important to Brenda. With this education Brenda has taken additional classes to proudly become a Certified Residential Specialist - CRS (only 4% of Realtors hold the CRS designation). As a concerned person for the environment, she has taken the education required to become a E A S.T.A.R. (Earth Advantage Credentials) Specialist - specializing in Green Building and assisting in making earth friendly decisions in remodels and modifications in existing structures. Most recently, she has become a CNE - a Certified Negotiation Expert.
